The Issue

My unwavering support for the Second Amendment has always been a cornerstone of my beliefs. Recognizing the importance of our constitutional rights, especially the right to bear arms, it's imperative to address unnecessary restrictions that infringe on these rights. Currently, certain provisions under the National Firearms Act (NFA) impose excessive regulations and taxes on suppressors and short-barreled firearms, hindering law-abiding citizens from exercising their rights effectively.

President Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill" aimed to remove these NFA tax provisions, which have been nothing but a burden on responsible firearm owners. Unfortunately, due to the Senate Parliamentarian's ruling, these pivotal changes may be removed from the final version of the bill. It's time that Republicans in Congress take a stand and overrule this decision.

The removal of suppressors and short-barreled firearms from the NFA would not only alleviate financial burdens but also enhance safety and functionality for lawful gun owners. Suppressors, contrary to misconceptions, are crucial for hearing protection and reducing noise pollution, while short-barreled firearms offer versatility and can be precisely what citizens need for home defense or sporting.

By signing this petition, we pledge that if current Republican members of Congress fail to take decisive action to overrule the Senate Parliamentarian and rectify this oversight, we will not support them in forthcoming elections, opting instead to vote third party or not at all. This is not just a political statement; it's about preserving our freedoms and ensuring our elected officials represent our foundational rights.

I urge you to stand with us in this critical fight to safeguard our Second Amendment rights. Sign the petition and demand that Congress act now to include the removal of these NFA restrictions as part of future legislative reforms.
