As an American citizen and an immigrant, I am deeply concerned about the treatment of fellow immigrants in my birth country. Having endured the journey of immigration myself, I know the challenges, fears, and uncertainties involved, which amplifies my concern for immigrants being deported to Guantanamo and detained there.

These recent events highlight a potential human rights violation with deeply disturbing historical parallels that we all need to address urgently. The detainment of the immigrants could quickly escalate into a state of genocide if not closely monitored. According to a report from Amnesty International in 2020, Guantanamo remains a site of numerous and ongoing human rights violations. 

My goal is to urge Congress, government officials, and the media to take immediate action. We need to closely monitor the situation and ensure the humane treatment of all immigrants being deported and detained by our government. 

I invite citizens of other countries to join us as well. Human rights apply to us all. Let us stand together for the rights of all individuals, regardless of their origin or immigration status. Every human being deserves respect, dignity, and fair treatment.
