The Issue

I am a 12th-grade student who recently appeared for the CBSE physics board exam. The exam was a nightmare for many of us, including myself. The difficulty level was alarmingly high, and the chapter-wise weightage was not as per the given guidelines. This unexpected challenge made the examination extremely stressful for us. In fact, right after the exam, I was so down that I couldn’t bring myself to study for my next paper; my mind was blank and in a state of shock.

The aftermath of the exam wasn’t just academic; it was emotional. The disheartened looks on so many of my fellow students’ faces told the same story - students crying, feeling hopeless, and doubting their future. Personally, I was pushed to mentally dark places that I had never been to before. I was filled with dread and despair about what might come next, losing faith in my ability, and questioning my future prospects. I even contemplated drastic steps, which is extremely alarming and unacceptable.

This was not an isolated incident. Many of my classmates and students across the board were affected. Therefore, I am making a heartfelt request to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) - please take this situation seriously. We implore you to consider lenient marking for our physics paper and provide grace marks to ensure that this challenging exam does not shatter our dreams or put our mental health at risk.

All we ask is for fairness and empathy. The intention of education should not lead to such distress among students. It's crucial that CBSE allows students the opportunity to move forward without the fear of failure looming over us.

Please support this petition and help us urge the CBSE to act compassionately. By signing this petition, you are standing with thousands of students who deserve a fair chance at their future, without the burden of an unduly challenging exam overshadowing their potential. Let’s ensure our voices are heard.
