Canada and the west came into this century all too willing to put the nuclear threat behind us, something from a different less stable time where our leaders were much more reckless and likely to actually commit to the use of nuclear weapons. When once the public was very aware and involved in the conversations of use and policy, there is now a taboo on discussing this all too horrific of scenarios, which has suited us fine in the last few decades of relative peace. It would seem unconcievable that the world order as we know it could get shifted so intensely and quietly as it has in the last year. The Russian threat of nuclear weapons being used in Ukraine, and direct war with nato must be taken seriously. As nato allies continue to insist for no loss of territory in Ukraine, every day, every minute, we back an elderly desperate murderer into a corner.

It's time for the media to recognize what Biden described as the distinct reality that the stakes of this conflict are nuclear armageddon. 

I truly believe that all it takes for the public to force the hand of a democratic government is for unity and a general awareness of the issues facing us, and we have to act on this for the sake of you, your family and every other life form on the planet, blissfull ignorance leads to no good place.

Make our governments speak for the people they represent!
