Urge Canada To Terminate Lockheed Martin F-35 Contract & Partner with EuropeanNATO Members

The Issue

As a dedicated Canadian, I have a profound concern about our country's dependence on the United States for our military defenses, specifically with respect to the F-35 fighter jets contract with Lockheed Martin based in Texas. The recent proposal to make Canada the 51st state by Donald Trump has revived crucial concerns about our national security.

The F-35 fighter jets are designed for stealth, stability, and power. However, the dependence on a foreign corporation for our national defense promotes vulnerability. This decision provides the United States an undue advantage, which has an implicit threat to our national security.

Considering these concerns, we urge the Government of Canada to reconsider its defense partnerships and strategy. A feasible solution could be to terminate the existing F-35 building contract with Lockheed Martin and instead build partnerships with European NATO member countries for acquiring Eurojets. The Eurojet's capabilities are proven, and a partnership within the NATO alliance would reinforce our threated national security.

At least seven NATO member countries currently use Eurojets, highlighting its wide acceptance and suitability. Given these positives, this change would surely be a stride towards a more independent and secured Canada.

Now is the time to put national respect, safety, and independence at the top of our priorities. Join me in urging the Government of Canada to terminate the Lockheed Martin contract and foster new defense partnerships within the European NATO alliance. Sign this petition today.
