Urge Apple to reinstate crowd-sourced ICE tracking apps to the App Store

Urge Apple to reinstate crowd-sourced ICE tracking apps to the App Store

The Issue

In the last year,  we've seen an escalation in aggression and violence on behalf of ICE and other federal law enforcement in the name of "safety" but we've seen numerous incidents resulting in harassment, incarceration, injury, and even death of our neighbors - both immigrants and natural-born citizens alike.

In the absence of formal accountability from our institutions, it is essential for citizens to be able to document and archive the actions of law enforcement agents to keep our communities safe and prevent abuses of power from being swept under the rug.

Numerous crowdsourced apps, including Eyes Up and IceBlock,  fill this need by allowing everyday citizens to record, archive, and share encounters with law enforcement that may otherwise go unnoticed or unreported. These apps have since been unfairly delisted from Apple's App Store after being illegally pressured by the Trump administration.

April 17, 2026, A federal judge ruled in the favor of Eyes Up that Apple had changed their stance on the app in direct response to pressure from the administration and blocks the government from forcing the platforms to censor the content. The injunction allows Apple to "reach its own decisions...rather that be pressured by" the government.

We are calling on Apple to reinstate these crowd-sourced applications in its App Store. Reversing this decision is a step towards restoring a level of trust between citizens and technology companies in their shared goal to enhance public safety and uphold civil rights. Having such large technological gatekeepers side with political interests over citizens further oppresses the marginalized and disenfranchised within our communities when they should be tools of equality.

Join us in urging Apple to support community safety and transparency by reinstating these vital apps sign this petition to help create a safer and more accountable environment for everyone.
