Urge Apple to introduce Legacy Layout option in iOS 26

Urge Apple to introduce Legacy Layout option in iOS 26
The Issue
Back in September 2025, Apple released iOS 26 and introduced a radical change to their entire graphical user interface, switching from a flat design to a "liquid glass" interface. This change took many of us by surprise. While I appreciate the artistic inspiration behind the new interface—echoing designs reminiscent of Frutiger Aero—it simply doesn't feel right for me.
The new design fundamentally alters the user experience from the interface to the app icons. This seemingly minor aspect has a substantial impact on usability and comfort. It is an interface that many people have grown accustomed to over the years and a design that fits naturally with their daily use. For users like me, who have grown fond of the layout of iOS 18, the shift feels alienating.
It's understandable that technological and design advancements are essential, but not everyone adapts to these changes easily or willingly. Hence, this petition seeks a meaningful solution for Apple to consider—a simple option to switch between the new iOS 26 interface and the beloved Legacy Layout of iOS 18.
Implementing a Legacy Layout option would be a user-friendly decision, allowing people to choose the design that best suits them. It not only respects individual preferences but also enhances user satisfaction. If individuals have the choice between the two layouts, they can work in a setting where they feel most comfortable, potentially boosting productivity and inclusivity.
We are asking Apple to consider these preferences and offer an option within iOS 26 or subsequent versions to switch back to the Legacy Layout. By signing this petition, you are voicing the need for choice and personalization in our device experience.
