The Oblongs and Mission Hill, two beloved adult animated series originally from The WB (now The CW), had short-lived tenures but left long-lasting impacts on many viewers, myself included. The Oblongs premiered on April 1, 2001, was cancelled shortly after on May 20, 2001, and reruns aired on Adult Swim from August 4, 2002 to December 26, 2015. Meanwhile, Mission Hill premiered even earlier, on September 21, 1999, suffered cancellation on July 16, 2000, and saw its reruns grace Adult Swim from May 26, 2002 to February 28, 2009.

These shows deserve to be brought back into rotation for their unique storytelling and stylistic homage to a particular era in animation. Today, when reboots and revivals are common, bringing back reruns of these impactful shows would provide enthusiasts another chance to relive their charm and would also endear a whole new audience to their unique appeal.

In a world increasingly obsessed with nostalgia, it only seems fitting that these two unique and beloved series be given another chance to shine. Let us bring back these overlooked gems and make them accessible again for both long-time fans and new viewers to appreciate.
