On August 29th, 2021 off-duty NYPD officers murdered Mikey Rosado. Rafael Rosado tried to protect his son, Mikey, from the people trying to murder him - off-duty NYPD officers who did not identify who they were. The 46th  precinct in the bronx police of the NYPD failed to release the names of the off-duty officers for months after the murder.

Rafael, Mikey’s dad, was locked up at Riker’s Island for protecting his son from plain clothed off-duty NYPD officers and charged with attempted murder, reckless endangerment, and possession of a weapon.

11 people have died at Riker’s Island this year alone, with an attorney at the Legal Aid Society describing Riker’s as “ level of depravity and inhumanity that is really shocking to imagine happening in the greatest city in the world.”

We, the community, and the family of mikey rosado who was shot with his hands up are asking the charges filed against Rafael Rosado are dropped, and Rafael is released and reunited with his family so the Rosado family can properly mourn the death of Mikey Rosado. Mikey, who had his hands up while he was murdered by off-duty NYPD officers from the 46th police precinct.
