The Issue
Customers packages are no longer being scanned by drivers at businesses upon pickup.
UPS is claiming this is efficiency. When in fact there is a huge liability to the customer for loss, theft and late deliveries, since UPS is now claiming they don't have the package, when in fact it was handed to a driver. If it's not scanned at the hub, customers cannot track it and UPS is NOT responsible if it's lost, since the package was never scanned.
This needs to be changed back immediately so when the driver takes possession of a package it is scanned into the system. This provides information and protection for the customer.
