Anybody who watches girls sports at Upper Moreland Highschool knows the tale of the Emma’s. Meeting in summer or 2018 Emma M and Emma H created an instant friendship that will last a lifetime due to the name they share. Since their meeting they have become almost family, always supporting each other, and have even come up with a new UM tradition. Every time the Emma’s are together in a crowded place they will walk up to another person, standing on either side, and say, “Emma Sandwich!” Although in sandwich terms it is not technically an Emma sandwich, the same way as a turkey sandwich is not a bread sandwich, it has a very deep rooted meaning for Citizens of Upper Moreland. Both Emma’s and their comrades agree that this action should be given a holiday to honor the friendship. I propose the holiday should be the date between each of their birthdays (January 11th and June 2nd), making this unofficial holiday dated as March 22nd. This a plea to the people of Upper Moreland and Governor Wolf to give the people what they want, Emma Sandwich Day!
