Keep Upper Merion Buses in house. Say no to First Student.

Keep Upper Merion Buses in house. Say no to First Student.
The Issue
Upper Merion is in the process of outsourcing the school transportation department to First Student. They have been very hush hush about this and its time the taxpayers and parents know what is going on so that they can tell the school board they dont want this to happen. The District has only offered the drivers two options so far. Either take a 25% paycut or take a 1 year bridge contract so they can sell the fleet and allow First Student to take over. This is after the drivers have already had a 5 year pay freeze and are now on year 6 and working without a contract. All the drivers want is a fair contract so they can continue to make sure our kids are safe to and from school everyday. We as parents and taxpayers need to let our board members know we do not want First Student. Just ask your friends and neighbors from Norristown, PW, and Methacton how First Student is doing for them.
