Uphold RPNM Rules: Call for Chair Amy Barela to follow the rules.

The Issue

Republicans believe in something simple—but essential:

Rules matter.

They ensure fairness, prevent abuse of power, and protect the integrity of the process.

Right now, that principle is being tested within the Republican Party of New Mexico.

Chair Amy Barela has chosen not to follow the rules, specifically Rules
1-4-3 and 1-4-4, which are intended to prevent conflicts of interest and ensure a fair and level playing field in Republican primaries.

She has not made a peaceful transition to the 1st Vice Chair.

Even more concerning, some within party leadership are encouraging this decision—sending a message that rules can be ignored when it’s convenient.

That is not conservatism.
That is not leadership.
And that is not how we build trust with voters.

As Republicans, we talk about accountability, integrity, and the rule of law.
But those values must start within our own party.

We Ask:
Do rules matter—or only when they’re convenient?

Should party leadership be held accountable when it comes to following the rules?

If you believe that rules should be followed, and that no one is above them, then we ask you to stand with us.

Call to Action:
We, the undersigned, call on Chair Amy Barela to peaceful transition chair position to fully comply with RPNM Rules 1-4-3 and 1-4-4.

We also call on Republican leadership to:
1) Uphold and enforce party rules consistently,
2) Reject selective enforcement and internal favoritism,
3) Restore trust through transparency and accountability.

Why This Matters:
This is bigger than one person.
This is about the future of the Republican Party in New Mexico.

If we cannot follow our own rules, we cannot expect voters to trust us to govern.

If we silence concerns and ignore fairness, we risk losing not just elections—but credibility.

Some State Central Committee (SCC) Members (governing body of RPNM) may want to support this grevious violation but New Mexicans around our great state understand that without holding our own accountable,  we risk losing even more at the ballot box.

RULES MATTERS.  FOLLOW THEM.
