As a concerned parent and resident of Kirkwood, MO, I am deeply troubled by the state of our children's play equipment at Meacham Memorial Park. Our children are forced to play on old, deteriorating equipment that poses serious safety risks. The playground is not only outdated but also unsafe for our young ones.

The National Program for Playground Safety reports that each year in the United States, emergency departments treat more than 200,000 children ages 14 and younger for playground-related injuries (Consumer Product Safety Commission). This statistic is alarming and it underscores the urgency of our situation here in Meacham Park.

Our community deserves better. We deserve a safe space where our children can play freely without us worrying about their safety. Upgrading the playground equipment at Meacham Memorial Park will not only provide a safer environment for our kids but also promote physical activity and social interaction among them.
