My son is an avid bmx rider and spends numerous hours at Fleming Reserve Skate Park in High Wycombe. It's disheartening to witness him and countless others face unnecessary risks because the jumps are outdated and poorly maintained. He's suffered crashes, which could have been avoided had the facilities been safer.

We are urging the Shire of Kalamunda to take immediate action to repair and upgrade these jumps. Right now, these ramps pose a significant danger: they are worn down and no longer meet modern safety standards. By neglecting them, we are inadvertently pushing our children to seek alternatives in unsafe locations like roads or car parks.

This isn't just about maintaining a park; it's about ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our community's children who rely on this space for recreation and skill-building. A modernized, safe skate park will not only prevent injuries but will also be an asset for the community, encouraging healthy and safe recreation.
