Upgrade Computers for Year 8 Students and Higher at Hope Christian College

Upgrade Computers for Year 8 Students and Higher at Hope Christian College
The issue
It's a personal struggle we, the students of Year 8 at Hope Christian College, face every day. Our laptops are outdated, their batteries hardly holding a charge. This consistent issue disrupts our learning and makes us Get Focus Rooms as we are unable to access online resources for extended periods without having to recharge, resulting in significant loss of studying time and getting In trouble for "Breaking the Laptop Agreement Rules".
What's worse is that we, the students, are expected to pay out of pocket for these battery replacements, despite the fact that these laptops are school-provided tools meant to enhance our educational journey, not impose additional financial burdens on us.
This scenario isn't uncommon. Reports show that maintaining older computers can cost a school as much as or more than investing in new ones. Every dollar spent repairing and maintaining old laptops can be better spent on upgrading to a new fleet.
By Year 8, we should have access to the same new computers that the senior students are getting. This is not a mere plea for better gadgets, but a demand for equal academic opportunities. Investing in modern, reliable tech tools will significantly enhance our learning experience, promoting greater engagement and enabling us to reach our full academic potential.
We, therefore, urge the administration of Hope Christian College to invest in new, reliable computers for Year 8 students. Please sign this petition to show your support for our demand to improve our learning environment. Let's not allow outdated technology to stand in the way.
