Upgrade and Pave the Hazardous Gravel Road

The Issue

Vera Buckner is a resident who, like so many others in our community, is struggling with the implications of our poorly maintained gravel road. This issue isn't simply a matter of inconvenience; my livelihood is under threat. I am unable to reliably commute to work due to the unstable condition of our road, putting my employment and our family's financial stability at risk.

The condition this road is currently in is one that varies with the weather, becoming especially dangerous and impassable during rainy days or winter. But it's not just about me. It's about all of us that live here, all who are affected by the inability to get out and do essential tasks for our families.

The American Society of Civil Engineers gives our nation's roads a 'D' grade, signaling a 'poor - at risk' condition. This isn't something we must accept in our community. We need, and deserve, roads that meet basic safety and reliability standards.

Therefore, we are calling upon our local municipality to take immediate action. We urge them to not only fix the currently hazardous gravel road but to pave it properly, eliminating weather-induced issues leading to local residents' difficulty in commuting for work, emergencies, or essential necessities.

Please sign this petition to raise this issue with those who can make that difference, and help our community keep our jobs and lives stable. It's time that our road conditions no longer put us at the mercy of the weather.
