Petition Details:
As a victim of UpGrad and IU University's hybrid IU BBA program partnership, I am sharing my painful journey to protect other students from the same financial, emotional, and academic hardships. Many of us trusted UpGrad’s promises, only to be met with shattered dreams, overwhelming financial burdens, and loan rejections, caused by misleading assurances and a complete lack of support. The stress, frustration, and lost opportunities have taken a deep toll on our lives. No student should have to endure this deception, and we demand justice, accountability, and real change.

Misleading Admission Promises: UpGrad’s admission counselors gave students false hope, assuring them that academic gaps and prior visa refusals wouldn’t affect admission or loan eligibility. In reality, these factors crushed students’ dreams, making it nearly impossible to secure loans or successfully study abroad.

Broken Loan & Visa Promises: UpGrad confidently promised reliable loan support through Propelld, convincing students to invest their hard-earned money and trust. But when the time came, these promises vanished—leaving students stranded, financially drained, and with no clear path forward.

No Accountability, Just Excuses: Despite countless complaints, UpGrad continues to deflect blame, offering superficial responses while ignoring the devastating long-term impact on students' futures.

Unfair & Inadequate Grievance Support: Students have lost not just money but also precious time, opportunities, and peace of mind. Yet, requests for fair compensation—beyond just tuition refunds—are routinely ignored. Shockingly, some who spoke out publicly reportedly received up to 5x compensation, exposing the unfair and inconsistent treatment of students.

What We Demand:
Full & Fair Compensation: Students have suffered not just financially, but emotionally and academically. We demand a full refund of tuition and reimbursement for additional incurred costs. and fair compensation for the valuable time and opportunities lost due to UpGrad’s misleading promises.

Honest & Transparent Admissions: No more false assurances! Students deserve full disclosure of all risks—including visa and loan eligibility—before making life-changing decisions. UpGrad must provide genuine, comprehensive counseling to international students, ensuring they make informed choices.

A Real Grievance Redressal System: Enough with the silence and blame-shifting. We demand a proper, accountable grievance mechanism where students can get timely, fair resolutions—with a dedicated representative who actually listens and acts.

A Public Apology & Accountability: UpGrad must publicly acknowledge their failures, apologize to the affected students, and commit to real reforms. The damage they have caused cannot be ignored or brushed under the rug.

Students placed their trust in UpGrad, only to be met with deception and broken promises. We refuse to stay silent—justice must be served!

Why It Matters:

Higher education should be built on trust, not deception. Students invest their time, money, and dreams into programs that promise a brighter future—only to be left stranded by false assurances and aggressive marketing tactics. When institutions like UpGrad fail to honor their commitments, they don’t just break promises—they shatter lives.

We refuse to let students be treated as mere transactions. UpGrad and its investors must take responsibility, uphold their commitments, and provide the education and support they sold to us.
