I have created this petition, to ask for the support of all students, teachers and potential students who are sharing my opinion to support this petition in order to request to the UOpeople to change their name. 

I am a new student at UOpeople, and I am happy to start my course of study in Computer Science. But on the continent where I live, my co-workers and acquaintances do not take the name of this university seriously. That means that my bosses, or other companies and university professors will not seriously consider this university because of its name. 

I imagine that the same thing has happened to many of you, in particular  when facing job interviews. 

In my opinion, It is also one of the main reasons why this University is defamed, unfairly, on the Internet for the lack of seriousness in its name. 

I think the name they chose is nice and reflects the values of the people and their students. But in the end it lacks professionalism and good reputation to face or compete with other universities.

With its unique model, the University has opened the doors of access to Higher Education to students from all over the world and from all social classes; now we demand that the University remains true to its Mission, and proceeds to consider our request that it influence our path and our life at the end of Higher Education studies for all its students.
