Chik-Fil-A should be removed from the University of Scranton's campus because what the owners and the company stands for goes against the University of Scranton's Standards of Conduct.

The University's Standards of Conduct:
“The University of Scranton is a community dedicated to the freedom of inquiry and personal development fundamental to the growth in wisdom and integrity of all who share its life. Our mission is to educate men and women in the Catholic and Jesuit tradition which encompasses the search for truth, the discovery and sharing of knowledge, the promotion of personal and professional excellence, and service to others and the community through a spirit of caring. At the University, we educate the whole person, spiritually, physically, and emotionally in the spirit of cura personalis. This education of the whole person is characterized by openness, honesty, respect, fairness, and responsibility.” [http://www.scranton.edu/studentlife/studentaffairs/student-conduct/standardsofconduct.shtml]

The COO of Chik-FIl-A, Dan Cathy:
"It's very clear in Romans chapter 1, if we look at society today, we see all the twisted up kind of stuff that's going on. Washington trying to redefine the definition of marriage and all the other kinds of things that we go—if you go upstream from that, in Romans chapter 1, you will see that because we have not acknowledged God and because we have not thanked God, that we have been left victim to the foolishness of our own thoughts, and as result, we are suffering the consequences of a society and culture who has not acknowledged God or not thanked God—he's left us to a deprived mind. It's tragic and we live in a culture of that today."

Where do Chik-Fil-A profits go?
They go to organizations who oppose same-sex marriage, such as the WinShape Foundation [http://winshape.com/] and the Family Research Council [http://www.frc.org/].

Does this sound like a company “characterized by openness, honesty, respect, fairness, and responsibility”?

Chik-Fil-A says that, “The Chick-fil-A culture and 66-year-old service tradition in our restaurants is to treat every person with honor, dignity and respect – regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender.” Yet, they donate money to groups that vehemently oppose same-sex marriage. Actions speak louder than words. Please sign my petition to remove Chik-Fil-A from the University of Scranton's campus.
