USD Student started this petition to University of San Diego and

Due to the wide and continuing spread of the COVID-19 virus and with the United States currently having 605 confirmed cases and 22 reported deaths which is increasing daily, we the students of the University of San Diego think that it is of importance for USD to take drastic measures before having our first case on campus since we have a very small campus and the virus could spread easily. The State of California has declared a state of emergency, it is the second atate in the US that has cases of this virus. Our health is our priority at this time as we are all anxious and fearful with what is happening around the world and especially since it is spreading in closer areas. Also, since we just came back from our spring break, many people were in places like airports and airplanes which puts them at a position to get exposed and at a high risk of getting infected. We kindly propose making all our courses online to feel secure in the safety of our homes. All around the world and in the US, many schools and universities have announced that classes will be put off until further notice or changed to teaching courses online. We would appreciate if this request was taken into consideration as we wouldn’t want our lives to be put at risk since the virus is getting more serious overtime and could turn into a global epidemic.
