UPH-Molino should consider cutting the tuition fees of students for SY 2019-2020

UPH-Molino should consider cutting the tuition fees of students for SY 2019-2020
The Issue
The school board should consider the following into account for charging the students the FULL amount of Tuition Fees:
1. The second semester was plagued with days of no classes (eg. Typhoon suspensions, Taal Volcano eruption, University Week, Covid-19). This cutting the usual 18 weeks to a mere 6-8 weeks of normal classes.
2. The pandemic, the university should act more compassionately to parents/guardians who were affected by the loss of income due to the outbreak forcing everyone to stay at home.
3. Cost vs real expenses, the university should consider the fact that students were not present at the campus to be charged miscellaneous and laboratory fees for the semester. The board should also consider the fact that with the ECQ in effect, the school's utility bills should have decreased by the lack of usage by the enrolled students. This is also true for laboratory charges.
4. The reality of online classes. The university should look at the fact that on March 20, 2020 an official announcement from the school's page regarding the suspension of online classes has been published for a duration of about 2 and a half weeks, wherein no classes were provided and students were notified that an online examination will commence April 20th onwards. The students were bombarded by the sudden load of topics to review on a short period of time in order to pass their subjects.
5. The board should be more transparent on their plans and their contingencies on the upcoming semester. We, the students should be well informed of the progress of our inquiries and concerns. The university should take into consideration the stress of concerned parents and students alike, having questions unanswered on their Facebook Page.
These are humble requests to be considered before charging the students the full amount last term. We do not ask for a huge amount to be taken out, but for these factors to be considered and not charge us in full.
