The students deserve a fair prorated refund for their expensive parking passes. In this time of need for the student community all students deserve fair compensation for their passes.

They are refusing students understanding and their specific requests for refunds and not working with students to understand how to deal with extended refund deadlines and different prorated amounts in line with changes due to the health event. UNLV has issued easy automatic refunds in housing and food to students and easy prorated refunds to students on parking, but UNR wants students to refund primarily through mail-in and are not working with students to deal with confusion around annual passes purchased in the Fall.

The University does offer refunds, however, with the confusing situation I believe refunds should be considered in full for Spring or 50 percent refund if annual still due to the stressful circumstance, with a prorate being the fallback. The University should extend the full refund deadline or general last day for refund through the end of the semester to compensate for the stressful schedules on students and families. This refund may be needed by those in financial hardship and the expedition of this will allow students to focus on studies.

The University will be closed and these parking passes can no longer be used to their full value. This is unfair and students need to demand the University for the refund they deserve.
