Gopher Chauffeur has proven itself to be a popular, effective, and free resource for students to safely commute around the UMN campus since it started in 2007. It has also provided a unique and fulfilling employment option for UMN students.

Unfortunately, Gopher Chauffeur is currently only available from 10:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, and the wait times for rides can be over over an hour or more during peak times. To address concerns of student safety, MSA President and VP Candidates Trish Palermo and Erik Hillesheim along with CLA Senator Chandler Peterson are currently in conversations with many administrators to expand Gopher Chauffeur Service to include 8:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
