On December 18th 2020, Fall 2020 graduates of the University of Georgia were/are due to have their commencement. In the recent weeks graduates were told that we would not be able to attend an in-person commencement due to "unpredictable weather", and not being able to accomodate. We will be given a virtual commencement. The in-person commencement was due to take place just 13 days after the UGA BULLDAWGS play Vanderbilt in Sanford Stadium. For May 2020 graduates their commencement was rescheduled to occur IN-PERSON, 5 months after their original commencement date. Our question is, why are we not being given the option to attend a later commenecement date in-person? UGA was able to go out of their way for May 2020 graduates, why aren't Decmember graduates being given the same treatment? Why was this announced days after the rescheduled commencement for May graduates, December graduates could have easily been given the option to attend this ceremony, or we could have one rescheduled at a later date as May graduates did, or we could be given the option to attend May 2021's commencement ceremony since the University seems to be willing to do more for May graduates.  We could even be given the option to sit in said "unpredictable weather" in Sanford Stadium. Instead we have been given no say or option in the matter. The lack of care is heartbreaking from a University that we have loved and adored for 4 or 4+ years, the lack of going the extra mile for their students during such a time as this... is disappointing.
