Returning UF Spring Break to March 6-13th

The Issue

The Faculty Senate at UF has voted to move spring break from March 6-13 to January 4-8 for ‘COVID related reasons’. If they really cared about COVID they wouldn’t have allowed 17k fans into the football stadium for football games, but money is always the motivator, isn’t it? Changing spring break from March to January creates a semester that has little to no time off at all, and this is unhealthy for student, faculty and staff mental well being. We are already going home for Winter Break, what do they expect this change to do?
