Compensation for both home and international students at UOE.

Compensation for both home and international students at UOE.
The Issue
The University of Essex is one of the number of Universities participating in the industrial action taking place over a 14 day period from 20th Feb - 13th March. This is the second strike to take place during this academic year and is vastly effecting the help and support given to students.
We, as students are not only loosing out on a substantial amount of money but are also missing out on a number of vital lecturers that provide information and knowledge that guide us through coursework and exams. During the strike professors will not be replying to emails, lessons missed are not being rescheduled and students are left without.
While we support our lecturers and professors in everything they do, and we all understand why this industrial action is taking place. We as students are left unsupported. Though Essex University does compensate it is merely not enough. We were advised during the last strike there were three tiers of compensation, the lowest being £40 the highest being £180 which is minimal in comparison to the money and support we are loosing.
Therefore, we demand a response from the Vice Chancellor, we demand change for our lecturers and we demand adequate compensation for the upcoming strike.
