CU Denver switching to Pass/Fail Grading in response to COVID 19

The Issue

Hello,

I am currently a student at the University of Colorado Denver and it has come to my attention that CU Denver students are not being offered at this time the same degree of support in our educational pursuits as other institutions (CU Boulder) in our university system.

CU Boulder students have received notice that the deadline to opt in to a Pass/Fail option for the Spring 2020 semester has been extended. Since both universities have effectively moved their classes online in response to COVID-19, CU Boulder students are given the option to switch to a Pass/Fail option during this tumultuous, stressful time for their classes.

This would allow for both undergraduate and graduate students to change and apply for a Pass/Fail option as it can be very difficult to have classes closed, disrupted, switched to an entirely online setting, instead of being held on campus with the same resources we previously had access to.

Students at the University of Colorado Denver have only been offered the ability so far to withdraw from classes and receive a W on their transcript worth no credit earned for the semester. (As of 3/26/19 @ 2:00 p.m. MST)

CU Denver students have not received the same privilege of receiving the ability to change to Pass/Fail to support their academic support. This petition is to open that opportunity for CU Denver students just as it was for CU Boulder students.

Please sign and share this petition to present to the Registrar and necessary administrative bodies of CU Denver to support our student body during COVID-19.
