Training the Antiracist Business Leaders of Tomorrow at the UC Booth School of Business

The Issue

We believe that the University of Chicago Booth School of Business is responsible for training the leaders of tomorrow.  Its graduates go on to lead in businesses, non-profits, government and their communities.

We are deeply disturbed by the recent actions of one the program's graduates.  While we do not hold the school responsible for the actions of its graduates, this incident highlights a flaw in the Booth curriculum - namely that there is no integrated or stand-alone antiracism programming.

We ask that the school work with Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) antiracist educators to adapt the LEAD program and other courses to include a critical self-examination of racist beliefs and actionable steps to creating a more equitable workplace and communities in future.
