Hello, on behalf of the University at Albany’s 2020-2021 graduating class, we believe we should have an in-person commencement ceremony. With the right  COVID-19 safety guidelines, such as, breaking up ceremonies by major, utilizing our many outdoor fields, masks, testing, 6 ft apart seating, etc., we believe we should and deserve the opportunity to be able to celebrate all of our hard work and dedication on commencement day in person.  This past year has changed all our lives and many have gone through many hardships. With that being said, an in person commencement ceremony is something that all of us have looked forward to since the start of our college careers and this would brighten all of our lives after facing such dark times. These past 4 years have been filled with hard work, stress, lessons learned, and memories made, please help us celebrate how far we’ve come and worked by signing and getting us one step closer to being recognized, in-person, on a very special day; graduation. That will truly be a great day to be a Great Dane!!!!!
