Uncle Ike’s is the result of an ongoing systemic attack and marginalization of communities facilitated by government policies, actions and in actions. Uncle Ike’s is within a few feet from a Church and well below the required distance of 1,000 feet from a Teen Center. The purpose of this petition is to:

·        Hold our elected officials accountable for the decisions made which effect our communities.

 ·        Protect our youth from some of the snares associated with drug abuse due to exposure at a young age.

 ·        Ensure that the process by which marijuana facilities enter communities is done in a responsible manner, utilizing discretion and respect for families, the surrounding community and most importantly the youth.

We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our State and City Officials to:

·        Enforce RCW 69.50.331(8) as it pertains to the distance of Uncle Ike’s Pot Shop, 2310 E. Union St, Seattle in relation to the Joshua Generation Teen Center, 1431 23rd Ave., Seattle.

·        Amend RCW 69.50.331(8) to include Churches, Mosques, Synagogues, Buddhist Temples and all other religious and family facilities frequented by children.
