Unfortunately, Ruth Bader Ginsburg has passed away. Her dying wish was that she should not be replaced until the next president is elected. She is quoted directly saying her “most feverent wish is that I shall not be replaced until a new president is installed.” However, despite this wish, Mitch McConnel claims that Trump’s next nominee will “receive a vote on the floor of the United States Senate.” We’ve seen the poor decisions Donald Trump has made throughout his term, and if he appoints a Supreme Court Justice with similar views to his (which he most certainly will) the American people will face the consequences. In addition, Ruth Bader Ginsburg is one of the great heroines of our time. She was incredibly strong, and by respecting her final wish, we show our support as a country for her efforts to make the United States a better place. Ruth Bader Ginsburg is one of my icons, and is someone I look up to as a woman. In signing this petition, you continue to validate her and her legacy. It’s only 50 more days. We can go with one less Supreme Court Justice until then. So please, I implore you, fight for Ruth Bader Ginsburg and her legacy and tell the White House to hold off on appointing a new Supreme Court Justice for now.
