Have Black History Month Officially Moved To June

Have Black History Month Officially Moved To June
The Issue
As you know, Black History Month is observed in the month of February. February conveniently happens to be the shortest month of the year with major [commercial] holidays such as Valentine’s Day and President’s day. It’s for these reasons that Black History Month should be moved to the month of June.
Appropriately it is the month when Juneteenth, the holiday celebrating Black independence after slavery on June 19th 1865, is observed. It would make the celebration of a proud and trying history even more meaningful.
With this petition, we hope to have the world recognize Black History Month is every month, but if it should be observed it should be in the month of June.
