I have recently found out that Aunts have no rights to petition the courts for court ordered visits for their nieces and nephews yet grandparents do..I have two nieces that I haven't seen for quite some time. My sister is in jail and the father has custody and will not allow myself or my family to see my nieces, I contacted an attorney who states only grandparents have rights to petition the courts. This is insane as I helped raise one of my nieces and now I am not allow to see her.
