Petitioning United States Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack

Put the health of our children ahead of the interests of Corporate Food.

Last week, Congress voted to reject USDA guidelines that would increase the amount of fresh fruits and vegetables that are required in public school lunches, instead deciding that 1/4 cup of tomato paste, on a frozen pizza, constitutes a school lunch vegetable. The health of America's school children should not be determined by the interests of the corporate food industry any longer. Vegetables do not contain potassium sorbate, tricalcium phosphate, or soybean oil.
Secretary of Agriculture Vilsack needs to know that we are appalled by this decision, and that we demand that the health and wellness of our children take first priority.
