Schools across the United States have experienced a surge of adolescent teenage boys inappropriately exposing their toes while wearing flip flops. When these young men wear flip flops, their stubby, hairy, blister-covered, fungus-filled toes act as a distraction to their fellow peers and even to their teachers. Furthermore, their long, darkened ingrown toenails crust off of their feet and leave debris on the school carpet, giving our hard-working janitors more work than necessary. Though this peculiar behavior of wearing flip flops may be seen as normal for a dad taking his kids to the community pool, it should ABSOLUTELY NOT be condoned at school, a safe space where children and young adults should be learning, growing, and maturing.
