There is no doubt that we all agree that Pirates Cove is in deep need of protection from the abuse and neglect by the people that defame it everyday and the Board of Supervisors that allow it to continue. The location should be shut down until repair is done and fine people that trespass upon it. With that said, the long term concern of myself and others is the shifting of money to Nipomo is about the proposed Arroyo Grande underground oil/gas pipeline that will be placed underneath a local park in Nipomo. And my alleged beliefs that the San Luis Obispo County Supervisors are selling out the community near the Nipomo Park to transport the underground oil/gas pipeline from the Price Canyon Oil Field/ sometimes called, Arroyo Grande Oil Field. SEE: (the alleged monies and royalties that San Luis Obispo County will make from the Arroyo Grande oil field owners on a monthly bases by renting the park to them. The County will obtain millions of dollars a year from this sweet deal and people's lives will be in danger from an underground oil/gas pipeline that is near their homes and business in Nipomo) People we need to demand full disclosure of this shady deal from San Luis Obispo County. The long awaited decision about the US/EPA to determine if the Arroyo Grande Oil Field Owners are allowed to drill 480 more oil wells, turn our aquifer into a toxic dump and building an underground pipeline transporting to Nipomo is a risk that the citizens in this County agree with or not. Is still to be determined in the court of public opinion. Not by people behind closed doors. As of today, it has “NOT” been determined yet by the San Luis Obispo County Court Department, one way or another. However, it appears by this bold action of giving all the money to Nipomo Parks that a deal has already been made behind closed doors by people that we put in office to represent our communities without giving full disclosure to the whole county at large. Without allowing public intake from the whole county at large and a solid court opinion. In addition, to the opportunity to appeal the process from the courts that oppose this decision on both sides in regards to environmental racism and understanding/ appreciating all of the pros and cons of the facts of this dramatic step. The people that own homes and businesses in this path of this construction are told another park is a "quick fix" and look parents don't concern yourself with the park were the underground oil pipeline will be build because San Luis Obispo County will build a new park for your kids. And if you choose to sell your homes, because of lost of value in your property rights, you better do it fast. The major question of the century is, when does Housing/Parks vs. Oil Fields/Underground pipelines COUNT. (right now, this very second) The Oil Companies have many private secret rights of lack of disclosing the chemicals that they use and in fact if you get sick from the any oil spill, crack or leak, your MD is not allowed by law to tell you what chemicals are making you sick or even killing you. The MD's can be sued by the Oil Companies if they do tell their patients anything. Yet on the other hand, parents/children playing or living near these underground pipeline parks or oil fields don't have any rights, to say “No Way” is an underground pipeline or oil field is going to take up air space in my neighborhood. I guess it is the sign of the times, money is more important then peoples lives just like Pirates Cove (beach site) security and pleasure is a thing of the past. Sign my petition and lets take back our rights, ban fracking in San Luis Obispo County.
