The COVID-19 pandemic started in January 2020 and was announced as a global pandemic on March 11th 2020 by The World Health Organization (WHO). Since then many employees in United States filed their unemployment and feared to work on this pandemic. It is their choice and we respect their service and their decisions. There were also many essential workers who continue to work even during this pandemic time. They didn’t file for Pandemic unemployment or refused to work. But unfortunately they’re service was not recognized or appreciated. Therefore we are creating this petition to request the Department of Labor to provide incentives for the essential workers who worked during this pandemic to support their families and to our nation’s economy. If workers who filed their pandemic unemployment can receive incentives, why can’t the essential workers who worked during this pandemic get the same benefits. We truly believe that these essential workers deserve an incentive. It will also encourage them to continue their valuable services and will motivate them to show their availability at any such situations in future. If all essential workers quit their jobs or filed unemployment, it will definitely effect our country’s economy. So it is a must to encourage them with a small incentive with their paychecks.
