In what can only be described as classic Lincoln County insanity Sheriff Cottle in surreal move launched an attack against the Lincoln County prosecutor Mike Wood for doing his job in investigating the murder of Brian Fredde by Russell Morgan Woods.  Sheriff Cottle had declared it self defense within 20 minutes of arriving on the scene. After pleas from the community and the victims family that brought attention to the serious improprieties in the case,  Mike Wood the Lincoln County Prosecutor launched a comprehensive investigation and after 5 months took it to the grand jury who indicted Russell Woods on 2nd degree murder. A warrant was issued for Russell Woods arrest and Officer Preston Caruso leaked to the suspect there was a warrant.

We at Citizens to Stop Lincoln County Corruption would like to know if

Deputy Preston Caruso, you were the one working that case...did you leak to Woods on your own or did Cottle instruct you to do it? What relationship do you have with Russell Woods that you would go out of your way to protect him over the community? Remember Russell Woods is well known to have an arsenal of weapons which witnesses say he was allowed to remove immediately after the killing. Russell Woods also has the reputation for pointing loaded guns at people.  Making him a danger to the community while  on the lamb for over two weeks. 

Please respond Sheriff Cottle and Preston Caruso below with your explanation for your unconscionable behavior.

Meanwhile Brian Fredde's family is suffering while this circus continues from the Sheriffs office. To have your son murdered is something no one should have to go through but to have law enforcement try to leak the warrant and hide the murderer must be beyond painful.  We hear Preston Caruso even refuses to do his job and fill out the paper work for the Crime Victims Compensation fund leaving Brian's family to scramble to pay his final expenses.  Brian's family has had their share of tragedies and Brians mom is raising her grandchildren. She does not need this extra financial burden when Sheriff Cottle and Preston Caruso could so easily resolve it and it is there job to do so. Sheriff Cottle always has an excuse and time to make snow cones on the taxpayer dime. It is time for Sheriff Cottle to focus on getting the job done until we can throw him out on his ear come the next election.

Sheriff Cottle it is time to stop making excuses and do your job.
