Pet grooming should be an ESSENTIAL SERVICE in Hawaii

Pet grooming should be an ESSENTIAL SERVICE in Hawaii
The Issue
As of March 25, 2020, pet grooming in Hawaii has been considered a “non-essential service”. Only veterinary clinics and pet stores are considered “essential” and are able to remain open.
Pet grooming salons SHOULD be also considered a essential service because groomers also help and care for the health and well-being of pets.
When people attempt to groom their pets themselves they take a high risk of hurting their own animal because they do not know what they are doing. And injuries can and will lead them to a vet visit that could have been avoided if groomed by a PROFESSIONAL GROOMER.
Either the Department of Health, The Mayors Office, or, The Governors office can make this change. But after contacting each of them numerous times, there has been no response or action.
