Despite COVID-19 showing how critical health workers are, many still struggle to be financially paid on time and sufficiently. Paying wages on time is the simplest action governments can take to maintain a level of motivation or at least prevent one of the commonly encountered demotivating factors.

Healthcare workers in the private sector who are working 10 to 12 hours a day are getting PHP18,000 per month only. Governments may not be able to pay much, but they should at least provide housing with running water and electricity — these utilities are expensive and sometimes hard to come by in remote areas. 

Some of them are most likely to risk their lives just to save other's life. They have the right to be paid a high amount because they are the ones living in a dangerous world in the moment for they are fighting for an unseen virus.
