To President Barack Obama, On Behalf of Citizens of The United States and Its Allies...

On the morning of Saturday, March the 4th of 2017 at 6.35am EST, allegations of conspiratorial surveillance in abject violation of the integrity of and an oath sworn in service to the Office of the President of the United States were leveled against President Barack Obama by the current ranking member of the Federal Executive Office of the United States Government, allegations first made using social media and subsequently reiterated and defended by both ranking member and those representing the executive administration.

In response to these allegations, many government officials have remarked that should no evidence be provided in support of these claims, the ranking member in question should issue a formal apology to President Obama. Among those calling for such an apology is Republican House Representative Tom Cole who remarked, "President Obama is owed an apology in that regard, because if he didn't do it we shouldn't be reckless in accusations that he did."

Official individuals and parties having dismissed the claims, asserting their having no evidence or basis in fact, to date include the following:

  • President Barack Obama (Retired)
  • FBI Director James Comey
  • Director of National Intelligence James Clapper (Retired)
  • CIA Director John Brennan (Retired)
  • Representative Devin Nunes; Ranking Chair, House Intelligence Committee
  • Senator John McCain; Ranking Chair, Senate Committee on Armed Services
  • House Speaker Paul Ryan
  • White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough (Retired)
  • The British Government Communications Headquarters
  • Sir Mark Lyle Grant; UK National Security Advisor
  • Kim Darroch; British Ambassador to the United States

Regardless of these reasonable calls for an apology, it is widely accepted that no such apology will be issued by this administration on its own behalf. Further to this, many legal experts have suggested that the claims made might well be grounds for justifiable charges of being Criminally Liable of Defamation of Character. Despite being so subject, it is widely believed that not such charges will be specifically made by President Obama against his accuser or those by extension similarly subject to such charges as consequence of aiding and abating the shameful, embarrassing behavior.

No apology will be made to President Obama as the most base gesture of decency and acceptance of fault, no charges will be filed by President Obama in his unwavering adherence to propriety, nobility, and an enduring character of leadership whether as a public servant or private citizen. However, we, the signatories of this petition choosing to represent ourselves as citizens of The United States of America and its allies - including, but not exclusively, citizens of The United Kingdom - demand that an official government apology be made by The United States of America to President Barack Hussein Obama.

This apology shall be issued by the current federal executive administration of The United States of America and accordingly signed by the ranking member of this administration, senior members of staff of and to this administration, and all heads of the administration's cabinet, and shall read as follows with the names of the signatories of this petition substituted where directed and made official with a signature from each the prior-mentioned members of this administration at its conclusion where directed:

On this [The Date of Proclamation], the current Executive Administration of The United States of America formally issues an apology to President Barack Hussein Obama on behalf of [The Names of This Petitions Signatories] who individually and collectively wish to apologize to President Obama on behalf of the current Executive Administration of The United States of America and in specific the ranking member of this administration for all reprehensible and unsupported claims of illegal surveillance made by the ranking member of this administration.

As the current Executive Administration of The United States of America will make no admission of guilt in this matter, we feel it incumbent that we make this gesture in the absence of such an admission with the current Executive Administration of The United States of America's continued refusal to accept accountability for what has proven to be an act of seemingly malicious, impudent deception and one that insults we who are meant to be - but are not - represented by this administration as citizens of The United States of America or its allies, your two terms as President of the United States, and more generally to the Office of the President of the United States.

This apology, while not being made by the current Executive Administration of The United States of America, is here made as a document of official government record and affirmed by [Names of the Ranking Member of the Federal Executive Administration of The United States of America, Senior Members of Staff of and to this Administration, and Heads of the Administration's Cabinet] on this [The Date of Proclamation] and hereafter accordingly signed.

[Names of the Ranking Member of the Federal Executive Administration of The United States of America, Senior Members of Staff of and to this Administration, and Heads of the Administration's Cabinet]

It should be noted that whether abiding by the wishes of those choosing to add their names to this petition or refusing these wishes, the signatures themselves will remain as a matter of public record of their desire and offense taken at this one of many affronts to basic decency made by the current Executive Administration of The United States of America.

Note to Signatories: The proposed - the demanded - apology is deliberately convoluted in its cyclical structure; we are in effect apologizing for those too socially underdeveloped to apologize for themselves, having an official apology issued on their behalf on our behalf...
