Why this petition matters

On February 1st, 2021, Netflix ceased to stream Seasons 5-8 of Hasbro's hit series, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, effectively preventing its 222,000,000 subscribers from accessing the content contained therein.  This is a clear violation of the Geneva Conventions of 1949, Protocol II, Common Article 3, which states:

  • Persons taking no active part in hostilities should be treated humanely (including military persons who have ceased to be active as a result of sickness, injury, or detention).

Bronies, Pegasisters, and other displaced citizens of Equestria are currently engaged in no organized, or internationally recognized armed conflict, and are therefore entitled to protection under this clause.  While historically, the definition of "treated humanely," can and has been interpreted in a number of ways, we hold that our mistreatment is self evident.

To deprive us access to Seasons 5-8, (and frankly, Season 9), is to commit an act of unparalleled cultural erasure.  We call on the International Community to denounce this grave injustice.  We demand that Netflix accept responsibility for its heinous action, and take reparatory measures to guarantee that future generations have full access to these cultural treasures, without knowledge of which, the nation of Equestria will surely destabilize and degrade into a series of fractured ethno-city-states.

We demand an end to the cruelty.  We demand justice!
