Ending period poverty with bleeding rooms in public places
The Issue
More than half the world are in female bodies.
All humans came from a womb.
All wombs bleed
We all know the word menstruation or period. Those of us who experience this know that it affects our physical mental emotional and spiritual selves. When we are coming into our bleed and when bleed the hormones that move around our bodies directly impact our how we function, which us not the same as when we are coming out of our bleed and into ovulation, different hormones, different energy levels. During the bleeding times and just before we need much slower introverted spaces. We need to rest. We need to feel safe. And life goes on. We need to work, shop for food, take care if our children etc, go places. What if in those places (and for our daughters in their schools) there was a safe space for bleeding women. As essential as a toilet. A breastfeeding room. A prayer room. A place to take a moment. A time out. To put on a free sanitary product. Have a cup or tea. Rest in a comfy chair. Welcome or commune with our period our womb. This would be groundbreaking
Happier more relaxed wombs and wombyn means happier more relaxed foetus. Children. Humanity. Relaxation contributes so deeply to good health and the end of disease. We need free cosy womb rooms for bleeding women! The modernisation of the red tent.
