End the persecution of Uighur Muslims in China

The Issue

Up to one million Uighur Muslims and other Muslim groups could be being detained in the western Xinjiang region, where they're said to be undergoing "re-education" programmes. China denies any allegations and all media coverage is heavily censored. Recently memos have been leaked stating that individuals are not allowed to escape the camp, must 'truly transform' their religious beliefs and are under 24/7 surveillance. The UN has only morally condemned this clear breach of Human Rights and we need your help to put pressure on the UN to take effective action to end this humanitarian crisis. Anyone who cares about humanity should feel implored to sign this petition. We need the youth to rise up against this in a modern society that should promote inclusion and is fighting for equality. It is outrageous that this can be happening today in 2019 and there is so little being done about it, please help us in our journey to deliver everyone the human rights that they deserve. The under representation of this topic in the media is appalling, but let it be known that this IS happening, and this is a very real and a very pressing humanitarian crisis. The camps in Xinjiang are a clear breach of the Universal Deceleration of Human Rights and Article 9 of the 1988 Human Rights Act so the UN needs to receive more pressure to hold these documents above the need to protect economic connections between China and her trade partners. No matter how difficult it may be to end this unethical detainment of millions of individuals, we must pressure the UN to find away. This psychological and possibly physical torture cannot pursue for any longer.
