Podencos are Spanish Hunting Dogs and for so many decades they have been used, abused, abandoned and many are also tortured to death by Spanish Hunters.

They spend their entire lives on short chains in awful conditions with barely any space to move and at a very young age will be taught to hunt. For the ones not good enough, they are subjected to torture for not being good hunting dogs then they are either abandoned with broken bones or killed because they can easily be replaced as the cost of buying a Podenco is around 10 euros.

The ones used for Hunting will suffer the same fate, including other methods of torture, like being hanged alive with the Dogs feet barely touching the ground as it fights for survival and it can take up to 3 days before the Dog is dead, they call this "Playing the Piano". 

Podencos are one of the oldest breeds descending from the Ancient Pharaoh Hounds of Egypt and centuries ago were respected but as the centuries passed, they then became the most abused Dog and the most euthanized in Spain until this day.

As many as 90,000 are abandoned or killed each year by the Spanish Hunters.

Podencos are known as the "Invisible or "Forgotten" Dogs of Spain. Please help change that.
