My name is Kristan Garza, and I am well-known within the softball community, not only because I'm a coach, but because I've had the privilege of witnessing the transformation of young girls into confident players. I've had the honor of being the first pitching coach many of these girls ever knew. Through this, I've seen first-hand how the game of softball can shape these girls, molding them into their brighter, bolder selves, both on and off the field.

But it saddens me deeply to observe how our existing organization seems to have lost sight of what is truly important – the growth and prosperity of these young athletes. Softball can serve as a platform for resilience and self-confidence, but our current system falls far short of expectations, prioritizing its own goals over developing these girls' potential.

This is where our new organization comes in. Specially designed with the welfare of youth softball in focus, our sole mission is to foster an environment where every young player can dream big and thrive. I propose that we unite under this new organization that is committed to putting players first – always.

Now, more than ever, it's important for us to stand together. A staggering 36% of athletes quit sports during their teenage years primarily due to lack of enjoyment or the overbearing nature of adults, says the National Alliance for Youth Sports.
