Canada’s healthcare system is fractured. Vital patient information — test results, imaging, prescriptions, and medical histories — is often trapped in silos, inaccessible across provinces or even between hospitals in the same city. This puts patients at risk, delays treatment, and burdens doctors with incomplete data.

We call on the Government of Canada and all provincial and territorial health authorities to create and adopt a secure, unified digital platform that allows all licensed healthcare providers across the country to access and share essential patient records — with patient consent and strict privacy safeguards.

This platform should:

Connect hospitals, labs, family doctors, specialists, and pharmacies under one secure system. Ensure real-time access to test results and imaging. Empower doctors with complete patient histories at the point of care. Eliminate delays caused by faxing or couriering records  Reduce medical errors, repeated tests, and unnecessary referrals

If banks can securely share information across branches and provinces, so can our healthcare system. Canadians deserve better coordination, faster diagnoses, and safer care.
