Unionize Uber and Lyft Rideshare Drivers in Atlanta!!

Unionize Uber and Lyft Rideshare Drivers in Atlanta!!

The Issue

It's time, $1/mile minimum or these wheels don't turn.

This is a petition to elect a union president.

I am an Uber and Lyft driver in Atlanta, GA, USA. Over the years, I've witnessed a significant cut in our pay. For example, a customer might pay $90 for a ride while we drivers only get paid $20. This is just one of many instances where our hard work is undervalued.

In addition to this unfair compensation structure, there are numerous safety issues that are often disregarded by these companies. We drivers face risks every day on the road without adequate support or protection from the companies we work for.

Moreover, there's no real plan to assist us with vehicle maintenance or repairs to ensure our vehicles remain drivable—this despite the fact that we depend on these vehicles for our livelihoods.

We also lack real benefits. Despite spending long hours behind the wheel serving customers across Atlanta, we're not granted health care coverage or other essential benefits that regular employees enjoy.

Furthermore, there's no cap on how many drivers can operate in Atlanta. This oversaturation of drivers reduces individual earnings and increases competition unnecessarily.

For all these reasons and more—we need union representation. A union could negotiate fairer pay structures and advocate for better working conditions including health care coverage.

It's time Uber and Lyft were held accountable for their treatment of rideshare drivers like myself who form the backbone of their services but are often overlooked when it comes to fair treatment and compensation.

Please sign this petition if you believe rideshare drivers deserve better working conditions including fair pay rates, safety measures, vehicle maintenance support as well as health care coverage among other benefits.

All we are asking for is to be able to see real income in exchange for our real hard work.
