Parents asking about possible sexual misconduct of Unioto school students

The Union Scioto Schools have been working to cover up instances of bullying, harassment, and sexual assault for years. Children are afraid to go to school in the district. 

There has been a failure of communication between the administration and parents, as well as a failure to ensure the safety of children. An 18-year-old Unioto student molested a 6-year-old girl on a bus. Parents were never notified of the incident. Despite being in possession of the report for three weeks, the Ross County Sheriff didn't release it promptly to the media. 

A middle school student created a rape/kill list during the 2020-2021 school year. A police report was taken, school board members were notified, as well as Matthew Thornsberry, Superintendent at Unioto Schools. The school was supposed to handle this incident, according to law enforcement at the time. However, nothing was done. As a result, the student has now been accused of actually following through with his threats and raping a middle school student. This teen is still attending school.

According to a parent, their daughter was also sexually assaulted on a bus in 2019. They claim their daughter was groped and inappropriately touched. The administration failed to act then.

Matthew Thornsberry also permitted students to be exposed to an admitted child molester Bill McKell. In a police report released to the public, Thornsberry states that he had knowledge of allegations against McKell two years prior to McKell's public confession. During this time, Unioto Students were permitted to attend Bible Studies at McKell's home. The boy's soccer team would also be permitted to frequent McKell's home. Bill McKell and Horizon Chillicothe donated large amounts of money to the district. Perhaps this is why a blind eye was turned. McKell was actively involved with the school until 2020 when media outlets reported on his confession.
